Why Does The Church Today Need Prayer Warriors?

Mark 3:27 (NLT) Let me illustrate this further. Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man like Satan and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger--someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.

Why does the church today need prayer warriors? Simple answer, because the devil is active and prayer is the key to every victory.

What is a prayer warrior?

A definition: PRAYER WARRIORS ARE RIGHTEOUS SOLDIERS WHO ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE THROUGH THE Artillery OF PRAYER!

BINDING THE STRONG MAN – Jesus said that a prayer warrior could not receive the plunder of his enemy unless he first bound and overcome his enemy (see Mark 3:27). This requires a prayer warrior to have a Kingdom Mentality, Unity with the Spirit, and the strength and attitude to dispossess the enemy from his territory.

1) A Kingdom Mentality

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Righteousness can be coined as Right–Standing. A prayer warrior cannot bind the strong man unless he is in right standing with God.

2) Unity with the Spirit

Matthew 12:28 (KJV) “But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.”

Division in the house brings destruction to the house. A prayer warrior cannot heal the afflicted without the unity of the Spirit.

3) Dispossessing the Enemy

Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV) “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Strength is found in what one stands for. A prayer warrior cannot overcome the strong man while lying in wait and fear.

When prayer warriors start fighting on their knees in prayer, there is nothing the devil can do to stop them.

Matthew 18:18-20 (NKJV) “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
